I meant to post these as followups to Sunday exchanges. Two links: 1. A Curtis Yarvin tweet on X, and 2. A 3 min clip of infamous, controversial dude Nick Fuentes, who I literally know nothing about except that he's controversial.
Sharing both clips bc they demonstrate Right-side perspectives that thread this subtle, slippery needle of eschewing violence while nevertheless advocating for the use of force and power. I.e., there's an angle (among many, many angles, of course) that suggests that, while the marketplace of ideas conceit is probably no longer viable, and probably hasn't been for some time, there's a path forward that's strong and forceful but that doesn't have to go to violence. Fuentes's message is especially interesting bc it's entirely Christian. (Yarvin is decidedly not a Christian.)
As we continue to watch how all this unfolds, it might be instructive to remember that there is this sort of multiplicity of viewpoint on the Right, especially in the context of whatever propagandistic narrative is going to be coming out of the Left/Establishment.
Hi everyone, I haven't been active in Solid Ground for a while, but I am still alive and kicking! I now work as personal assistant to a mind-bendingly weird and diva-esque artist-lip-syncher-performer named Fiona Blueberry. She is blissfully clueless about politics and seems to be completely unaware of the culture wars. Working with her is a breath of fresh air. If you need a mood lift, I encourage you to watch this video we made together. Happy 4th, everyone! Wishing you fun/love/peace on this holiday. :) www.fionablueberry.com
TL;DR let everyone see how low Oxford has sunk
From the piece:
"This decision fills me with rage. And yet, it is the correct decision. Not because of any high-minded appeal to free speech, or my opposition to cancel culture, but because Abaraonye is a symbol of the derangement, ideological capture, and degeneracy of the entire university system. Debating in sweatpants and a t-shirt, and expressing glee at the murder of someone with whom he disagrees, Abaraonye is the figurehead that Oxford deserves and a perfect symbol for our university system writ large."
