I have the opportunity to go on the record regarding my thoughts about DEI for an article in my undergrad alumni magazine. (I met the author at the Robert George event while mingling before the talk.) My inclination is not to do it. I can't have the author cite the info I give her off the record. What would you do?

“I’ve been in several emotional tailspins since my trip up there in November 2023, worrying obsessively about our next get-together, probably to a point that would make people worry about my safety. Worry about when politics comes up again, usually without warning.
However bad Trump is, I might just be a special case of having experienced some psychological trauma from another direction. Lots about Trump might be true and valid. But it doesn’t elicit the same trauma (I don’t know what else to call it) I experienced from some leftist ideologies (that yes, are small to the rest of the family, but are gigantic for me).
