Sacrificial Love is what makes the world go around, but bad ideas pervert this crucial instinct.. If you want to change the world, start by “cleaning your room” as Jordan Peterson would say: start with your own kid. As a homeschooling Mom I will attest to the fact that fancy private schools are not necessary, but you must be willing to sacrifice your ego (aka: job, income, friend group, free time). Furthermore, academic success is not necessarily what privileges the kids in this article: it is moral clarity and prioritization.
I’ve had some of my own SJW/woke triggers (I guess you could call it OCD) recently. But a phrase I thought of to encapsulate my feelings is this:
“I didn’t grow up under the understanding that men and women serve as EQUAL partners…or even that women and girls are ‘better than men’ only to still be accused of being part of the problem of being a man.”
Ok…admittedly, the way gender dynamics are talked about (“male-dominated spaces,” “paving the way for women in those spaces,” etc.) tends to hit me very personally. Like an automatic accusation unless I’m individually affirmed just as an individual. I know. I have this ailment. But I just hope I’m not alone.
