I've been discussing what animates Mamdani with some fellow members of the Unspeakeasy who live in NYC. Is he mostly socialist? Islamist? I've been leaning more toward decolonialist and this piece refines that label for Mamdani, referring to him as a Third-Worldist. I think that is an apt description and something we are likely to be seeing more of these days.

Someone shared this with me who said it had been circulating in the Hasidic community. Will likely offend a lot of people these days.
Hi everyone, I haven't been active in Solid Ground for a while, but I am still alive and kicking! I now work as personal assistant to a mind-bendingly weird and diva-esque artist-lip-syncher-performer named Fiona Blueberry. She is blissfully clueless about politics and seems to be completely unaware of the culture wars. Working with her is a breath of fresh air. If you need a mood lift, I encourage you to watch this video we made together. Happy 4th, everyone! Wishing you fun/love/peace on this holiday. :) www.fionablueberry.com
I'm not sure how the algorithm sent me this, but this is a story of a Christian cafe owner in Denver having to deal with Communist and LGBTQ protestors. Even if you aren't Christian, it's moving to see the work he is trying to do in the community and how he has made dealing with these protesters part if his faith journey.
