Recent Solid Ground episode with Mazy Edwin.
So Mazy being largely same-sex attracted and also married to a man…it speaks a lot to the place in the world in which I find myself. Granted, I AM open to same-sex partnership (preferably celibate), but largely “traditional” otherwise. For religious reasons, but perhaps for other reasons as well, I respect the definition of marriage being between a man and a woman.
I’m in a largely conservative circle of gay/SSA men, some of whom ARE married to women. I took minor issue with something said on the podcast: that someone “became straight” when he left a gay lifestyle and got married to a woman and had a family in that context. I applaud that and believe in that family structure. I just wouldn’t call it “becoming straight.” Most of those I know who experience same-sex attraction yet who are happily married to a member of the opposite sex…wouldn’t describe themselves as “straight.”
Anyway, that’s just a sticking point of mine. I realize people describe sexuality differently. People to the right of me might say, “You’re asexual until you have sex!!!! Stop labeling yourself” (as if I’d be “straight” if I felt very strongly about marrying a woman and living what I believe about the family structure…and I’d disagree).
Then people to the left of me, or perhaps people who are angry at my church, would says “The Church wants you to be straight!!!!” And there, I’d disagree again. I’m gay simply cause I largely find men more attractive in “all the ways” than women. That’s it.
Someone shared this with me who said it had been circulating in the Hasidic community. Will likely offend a lot of people these days.
Hi everyone, I haven't been active in Solid Ground for a while, but I am still alive and kicking! I now work as personal assistant to a mind-bendingly weird and diva-esque artist-lip-syncher-performer named Fiona Blueberry. She is blissfully clueless about politics and seems to be completely unaware of the culture wars. Working with her is a breath of fresh air. If you need a mood lift, I encourage you to watch this video we made together. Happy 4th, everyone! Wishing you fun/love/peace on this holiday. :) www.fionablueberry.com
a little "brutal truth" for the no-kings protestors...

Wokal Distance doesn't think so in this thread, where he points out the violent, masculine manifestations of wokeness that preceded the feminine strains and may be on the rise again. He thinks the next round of wokeness will be dominated by Fanon-esque third- world post-colonialism. https://x.com/wokal_distance/status/1979451665553199359
