9/9/25: Mayor of Dearborn, MI, Abdullah Mahmoud, tells citizen he is not welcome in Dearborn
Hi everyone, I haven't been active in Solid Ground for a while, but I am still alive and kicking! I now work as personal assistant to a mind-bendingly weird and diva-esque artist-lip-syncher-performer named Fiona Blueberry. She is blissfully clueless about politics and seems to be completely unaware of the culture wars. Working with her is a breath of fresh air. If you need a mood lift, I encourage you to watch this video we made together. Happy 4th, everyone! Wishing you fun/love/peace on this holiday. :) www.fionablueberry.com
I appreciated how they tried to parse their positions on free speech, getting people fired, extremism/violence, tribalism. I do agree we need to be judicious and not act merely out of emotions. https://pca.st/episode/c0aa125f-f44b-47c0-948f-e93cc6cdeb97
From the piece:
If Charlie Kirk’s horrific assassination hit you in a deeply personal way, maybe in part it was because he was doing what you are too afraid to do but knew you should. Maybe you’ve been cowering when you could be more courageous, and you know you are enabling the very tyranny that intimidates you. No system reforms when those who wish for change hold their breath and hide. Maybe it’s time that you stop whisper-shouting behind your keyboard and put your money where your mouth is while you still have a voice.
Before it's a war.

TL;DR let everyone see how low Oxford has sunk
From the piece:
"This decision fills me with rage. And yet, it is the correct decision. Not because of any high-minded appeal to free speech, or my opposition to cancel culture, but because Abaraonye is a symbol of the derangement, ideological capture, and degeneracy of the entire university system. Debating in sweatpants and a t-shirt, and expressing glee at the murder of someone with whom he disagrees, Abaraonye is the figurehead that Oxford deserves and a perfect symbol for our university system writ large."
