As somebody who suffered from increasingly totalitarian "woke" ideology in my former workplace, I understand how critical regular "reality checks" are. This community is for people who wish to engage with each other and create a community of support to help make sense out of the chaos.

Per: today discussion.

As for drifting thoughts...I write this in defense of the Drifters.

Buckminster Fuller used the term "cosmic fishing" to often describe his way of thinking. There is an actual book entitled "Cosmic Fishing" by Ed Applewhite that describe Fuller's creative process. (If you ever want to get an understanding of Fuller, this would be my suggestion. Essentially it is meta-Bucky)

Driftnets are used to fish. The metaphor here is apt. They are pulled along til several or a large school of fish are caught.

Each person fishing catches their own unique fish. In my movie, Alison is going to become a fishmonger soon with her music choices that she will send out to the denizens of Bend. (Bendizens?)

People who cosmic fish also work on a large scale. What's the point of cosmic fishing if you don't. For me, when asked a question, I get a download and struggle to make a choice as to where to start when the best choice is to begin and go til you end. It's almost as if the narrative is larger than us and we just pick the apples in the order they fall off the tree. There has to be a sense of trust in doing that. I am guessing that that trust is trust in a larger thing.

I do think that our thoughts with intention behind them are launched out to orbit around the earth and return when we can take it and our capacity of understanding is ready to receive its return.

For me I call it "landing the flight line coming into LAX". Someone talks, I began to have responses. As the person continues to talk....more responses....seemingly random. I begin to stack the responses/planes one by one. When the person finishes, I begin to land the planes one by one. They don't have to be in the order that I heard them. I now land them as they come. This almost always opens up a nice back and forth with the person I am talking to and our perception of time becomes altered.

The key thing is that we need to have the time to do this.

Jack Nicholson was interviewed in the 50th anniversary edition of Playboy. It is a great interview. Two things stood out to me.

One was the reason why he was doing yoga. "“Yoga kicks me over at the beginning of that day. I want to have a realistic view of myself. I'm not ever probably going to know where the world is, but I like to know where I am.”

The other was that he was relatively comfortable with his thinking.

I thought that was a beautiful statement and framing. In a way I think that is what we are all doing. For me, it was to be more and more comfortable with the drift and to trust that wherever I go there is going to a finish...til we set out with our nets for the next one. There always seems to be something sweet at the end of each drift.

My New Job - The Dandiest Job Ever - Happy 4th!

Hi everyone, I haven't been active in Solid Ground for a while, but I am still alive and kicking! I now work as personal assistant to a mind-bendingly weird and diva-esque artist-lip-syncher-performer named Fiona Blueberry. She is blissfully clueless about politics and seems to be completely unaware of the culture wars. Working with her is a breath of fresh air. If you need a mood lift, I encourage you to watch this video we made together. Happy 4th, everyone! Wishing you fun/love/peace on this holiday. :) www.fionablueberry.com
