Just tried to figure out what word to use to refer to my coworker’s trans-identified daughter in our work group text. She used “my kid”. “Tell your…little one…kid…child…kiddo thank you for the delicious donuts!” None of them feel right. Went with “little one”. She is 18. 🫠It feels like an erasure of a person, of someone’s role and identity, not to use “daughter”. Like a neuturing of someone’s existence.

I Worked at the theatre(church of woke) today.
I Overheard/participated in conversations that would beat on the drums of progressivism and a credentialism that puts the woke subject in a place of abdication to the experts, to consensus, to science, to progress.

I expounded on the critiques(scientism, technology worship , over-medicalization, science is not consensus-ie-gelleleo, lobotomies, etc)with one young, happily mediclaized ADHD man, 23 years my junior, as we worked together for some hours putting counterweights on set pieces and lighting for “Rent”, 50 feet below us.

What ocurs to me is a defence of, on my part, the “that’s one way to look at it”, individual experience and perspective argument I put forward that cannot brook a counter in the subjective/progressive world view.

I am an individual, I can have my own view.
