I’ve been trying to prioritize keeping creativity active to avoid discouragement and I found inspiration in these words from Malcom Guite describing his field "The defense of the imagination as a truth-bearing faculty, which is not at all to speak of the denigration of reason, but it's to restore a kind of bicameral vision that… Imagination is not fantasy compensations for the grimness of what's out there. On the contrary, the idea that what's out there is bleak, meaningless, and grim is itself a kind of fantasy. It's a construction of late modernity. And actually, if we recover earlier and larger and more inclusive modes of consciousness and ways of seeing, we begin to see that what's out there is extraordinary and marvelous, and it almost calls out for a courteous exchange."
