As somebody who suffered from increasingly totalitarian "woke" ideology in my former workplace, I understand how critical regular "reality checks" are. This community is for people who wish to engage with each other and create a community of support to help make sense out of the chaos.

Sample of comments from Monday's contentious livestream

I'm clipping these from the weekly update (which I will send out soon- waiting for Jen's link!)
These are just a sample of the comments left by viewers on YT and Spotify:

Good discussion. The whole subject of sex and sexual behaviour is one of the most important to have and key to understanding humanity, especially in these disfunctional times. Please continue to have guests like Dean Abbott on.

I am so glad I was introduced to this channel through Askabrother. I love these conversations, and specifically in this video, I couldn’t disagree with any points each person made. So many good points I wrote notes on this one!! Its VERY nice to come to a channel thats not here to “ entertain” but have real conversations that we are having at the dinner table and holidays. Peace

I generally like the channel but this video gets a big fat dislike from me, sorry. Sadly, the ladies have confirmed every single negative feminist quality they themselves try to identify and expose on this channel. They couldn’t hear at all what Dean was trying to say because his honesty triggered their painful personal experiences and they completely lost their ability to listen objectively and to engage with curiousity and in good faith. They went into a defensive attack instead of trying to understand what was being communicated. This is exactly why men have given up on relationships and become more and more hostile towards women every year. They get yelled at for being honest, but when they withdraw as a result, they get yelled at for not wanting to talk. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. As a woman, this was very disappointing to watch. Also, at the risk of triggering some women here , I have to say that when we talk to the opposite gender, (and this goes both ways), we have to consider the difference in how male and female brain processes and conveys information. The female brain is a multitasker and goes in a thousand of different directions at the same time attempting to connect the dots. The male brain operates in a linear fashion and processes one point at a time. Neither is superior or inferior. They are just different. Dean was patient and tried to adjust to Jennifer and Leslie mode of processing and communication, but wasn’t given the same courtesy, especially by Jennifer. She had zero intention to engage in good faith discussion to understand the subject better. She turned the topic into a moral issue and went on attacking, and seemed proud of it. Again, as a woman, I am sorry to say that Dean demonstrated more emotional intelligence and maturity in this conversation than the women did.

I fucking love Jennifer for stating facts and calling out blatant hypocrisy. I was literally shouting ‘Yes!’ laughing and clapping!

I’ve have to say I’m a little confused by the confusion. It seems as if Leslie was the only one able to easily set aside her own frustration and bias. All human beings want to have their cake and eat it to. And that often manifests differently with men and women. It doesn’t make it right. But I think the point Dean was making is you don’t see women being shut down for their lopsided expectations the same way you see men being shut down for theirs, at least on the left where most of us are. I think Jennifer is feeling judged and returning the favor instead of trying to understand another perspective She’s not interested in understanding it, she just wants to object and shut it down. And personally, I’d much rather a woman I was with watch porn a hundred times than be with a hundred men. The two are definitely not the same. Both involve sex, but you are not participating in that sex, you are just watching it. It’s just voyeurism and masturbation. There’s also no risk and it also doesn’t convey any confidence to a man. That’s what we mean when we say experience. If you could derive meaningful experience from watching porn, we wouldn’t have nearly as much of a problem. Look, men do often have a specific attraction to inexperience. It’s a thing we feel. Does that make it right or fair? No, of course not. Does it mean we have to judge others? No. Is it a reasonable expectation? Probably not in this modern world. But wanting it doesn’t make you bad either. If one person isn’t a good match for another person, you can just move on, you don’t have to judge them.

Its unfortunate to see how little even clearly intelligent women understand about intersexual dynamics. Women arent men and men arent women. Women don't hold men to the same standards men hold women to, and for good biological reasons. Women attach differently, love differently and the cost of promiscuity is very different. They want 2 + 2 to equal 5, but that doesnt change anything...

I lost a lot of respect when he got butt hurt and wouldn't let it go.. Jennifer was trying to smooth things out but he just clung to the offense.

Wow this dude is a complete ass. He denies the absolutely double standard he is purporting as fact. Virtuous women want virtuous men. Meanwhile unrepentant porn addicts get what they aspire to.

Jennifer is spot on. Additionally, while it may be convenient (or opinion) to believe women have been pressured or led on by the sexual revolution (women’s movement, etc) to have more sex, women DO experience conflicting desires. I know plenty of men who do not fit into Dean’s opinions of what men are or are not and what they desire in a woman. He lacks evidence for his assertions. It’s my opinion that it’s increasing disconnection from one’s body (not necessarily one’s morality) that leads to promiscuity and some of the ideas discussed here.

The dude is constantly being interrupted by women that claim they want to know men’s perspective. Oh irony !

This was a great example of someone misunderstanding something, getting triggered and then talking past the other.

I really enjoyed watching Dean and Jennifer and I sincerely mean that. Dean for putting voice to feelings I’ve had throughout my life in an objective analysis. Jennifer for her passion she doesn’t check at the door. I have a very similar personality to someone like Jennifer and it’s hard not to admire even if I might disagree or only half-agree with points she’s expressing.

Mamdani spoof

Someone shared this with me who said it had been circulating in the Hasidic community. Will likely offend a lot of people these days.

My New Job - The Dandiest Job Ever - Happy 4th!

Hi everyone, I haven't been active in Solid Ground for a while, but I am still alive and kicking! I now work as personal assistant to a mind-bendingly weird and diva-esque artist-lip-syncher-performer named Fiona Blueberry. She is blissfully clueless about politics and seems to be completely unaware of the culture wars. Working with her is a breath of fresh air. If you need a mood lift, I encourage you to watch this video we made together. Happy 4th, everyone! Wishing you fun/love/peace on this holiday. :) www.fionablueberry.com

Book club?

Is anyone in here interested in doing a read-along type book club? I've got a couple of titles that I'd love to explore with others if so.

Finally got around to making a band page for the demo tunes
