I've been thinking it would be nice to do some in person meetups. Would anyone be interested in getting together in the Seattle area sometime in late Feb or early March? I'm thinking just a hotel bar kinda thing, so we don't have to make a reservation and it would be fine to have as few or as many people as want to show up, but I'm open to ideas.
Hi everyone, I haven't been active in Solid Ground for a while, but I am still alive and kicking! I now work as personal assistant to a mind-bendingly weird and diva-esque artist-lip-syncher-performer named Fiona Blueberry. She is blissfully clueless about politics and seems to be completely unaware of the culture wars. Working with her is a breath of fresh air. If you need a mood lift, I encourage you to watch this video we made together. Happy 4th, everyone! Wishing you fun/love/peace on this holiday. :) www.fionablueberry.com
Just attended some of Sunday mass at the local Roman Catholic Church on my way to work directly followed by noticing this.
In good news, Had yesterday w the kids and loving being able to bond with them again, and largely for the first time w the youngest @1.5 yrs old. I’m told that being w me is way funner…which helps curve my contempt for the authoritarian wokeness. I am told by the mother of my children in reply to my critique of therapists imbedding Social Justice in their practice;
“ I think you'll find most counsellors practice from an anti-oppression, social justice standpoint, as they should.”

A short one from Yascha Mounk. A helpful reminder to be on guard for how even supposedly "serious magazines" (Mounk's framing) are slicing and dicing the record to frame things to support desired narratives. It's a jungle out there!
